Hey everyone! I know it’s been awhile since we’ve had an official update like this one, but we have been hard at work on a number of things and we feel it’s time to finally bring everybody up to speed on what’s been going on here at King Crow Studios.
First and foremost, Quest of Souls has been delayed to 2017. Like most developers, delaying a game is the last thing we want to do. However, we also strive to make a game that not only we love, but that you will love as well. Every day we come up with more ways to make Quest of Souls bigger and better, and instead of rushing out a half-baked product, we want to take the time to make it a game we’re proud of. Like the great Shigeru Miyamoto once said, “A delayed game is eventually good. A bad game is bad forever.”
But don’t think we’re going to leave you empty handed. Although Quest of Souls will need more time to finish, this brings me to our next big topic: Necroball! What started out as a small side game in Quest of Souls has now evolved into a fantastic competitive title for you and your friends. What we dub as “a competitive sport played amongst necromancers” saw rousing success and popularity with fans when shown at PAX South and other trade shows. Therefore, we are pleased to announce that standalone Necroball is on Steam Greenlight today!
We’ve blown the doors off of Necroball and packed it with more features than when you may have last seen it. The game now features 1v1 or 2v2 play where two teams try to shoot the necroball into the opposing team’s goal with also managing their own horde of minions to rack up points to victory. Upgrade up your tombstones, destroy enemy forces and score the Ultimate Necroball to summon a mighty Bone Golem to help you bring down your opponent! Necroball will feature four playable characters, online multiplayer, 10 levels for each character and two competitive battlefields. We look to support Necroball through Steam Early Access as soon as it passes Greenlight.
And finally, let’s talk about our VR project we recently announced. As you may have seen on our Facebook or Twitter page, we are in the early stages of a VR cooking game currently known as Project VR Gumbo. We are working on this in collaboration with local game designer Mike Harris and 3D artist Kevin Dupuy. We’ll have more information to announce concerning this project soon, but know we are drawing inspiration from games like Cooking Mama and Overcooked as well as TV shows like Iron Chef and Chopped.
As always, be sure to follow us on all of our social medias (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or KingCrowStudios on Snapchat) for continuous updates on Necroball, Quest of Souls and Project VR Gumbo!
